president obama originally said that any evidence that assad is preparing chemical weapons crosses a red line triggering western action against him. now, the administration seems to be backing off and they are warning that using weapons will be the red line. won't that be too late? >> yes, it will. frankly it's part of a pattern that is very disappointing. it would be enough to distract and feed the attention of top leadership but this syrian situation, president called for assad to go before he had any plan in place to shape that process or the outcome. two years into a conflict we've known the chemical weapons were there. we don't have acceptable options. you are looking at air strikes as an act of war we have sought to avoid thus far as perhaps the most feasible option should they be deployed. >> gregg: once these weapons or loaded, they could be given to terrorists? >> proliferation is always dangerous, all these places we are dealing with the world's most dangerous weapons. their ability to deploy these things and put them on missiles and hit targets is bit down the road but pro
